We are not able to accept any walk-ins because this is a luncheon and food will be prepared for those that register by December 1st.\n\n\n\nAn interest in community development and a passion for travel led Brook Eddy to India in 2002 to research a movement based on the principles of Bhakti\, or devotion through social action. While there\, she fell in love with fiery masala chai and it enveloped her senses in a way that she couldn't forget years after returning home. \n\n\n\nSeeing an opportunity in the U.S. market for fresh\, preservative-free\, craft-brewed spicy chai\, Brook concocted her own chai recipe and bottled her brew into mason jars with handwritten Hafiz poetry labels. The taste inspired cravings beyond belief\, and within a few months Bhakti Chai was founded with the vision of creating social action within enterprise by using only sustainably sourced ingredients (fair trade\, organic\, NonGMO) zero waste manufacturing\, and supporting social change through organizations that work to serve and empower women and girls. \n\n\n\nA business leader with a social impact lens\, Brook is responsible for implementing all business strategies for building a national brand with over 15 sku's including: new customer acquisition\, operations\, marketing\, facility development and zero-waste manufacturing\, finance\, social media\, sustainable sourcing\, charitable contributions\, B Corporation certification\, Fair Trade certification and NonGMO verification\, advertising\, public relations\, fund development\, grassroots organizing\, positioning\, corporate growth\, and launching the new GITA project\, a platform for positive social change powered by Bhakti Chai. \n\n\n\nBrook Eddy has a graduate degree in Social Policy and Non-Profit Management from the University of Michigan. She has spent her career working for social change through nonprofits\, businesses\, and NGOs. She also had a brief stint as a personal chef\, writing coach\, and non-profit consultant.
