SUMMARY:Dance From The Heart - A free lunch to support CCD Community Education Programs
DESCRIPTION:I would like you to imagine for a moment that you're a 2nd grader\, holding your arms out in front of your mouth. You're learning the word proboscis learning that a butterfly lands on a flower\, unfurls the proboscis into the nectar of the flower. You open and close your hands\, using your whole body to feel what it's like to suck nectar from a flower. Moments later\, you're actually using your "proboscis" to create you-sized letters that reach from above your head all the way to the ground P R O B O S C I S!!!!\n\n\n\nNow\, imagine that you don't speak English yet. Imagine how this simple lesson and movement exercise could make learning possible for you.\n\n\n\nThis is just a single glimpse of what the Colorado Conservatory of Dance's Title One Elementary School Partnerships look like. Since 2003\, we have worked hand in hand with elementary educators to help reinforce core curricula but through movement. Over 8\,000 Kindergarten through 5th graders in at-risk schools have explored bugs\, weather\, the circulatory system\, Native American history\, fairytales\, nutrition\, and much\, much more! In each of these programs\, the students get to perform their dances for the entire school and their families.\n\n\n\nIn addition to this critical program\, CCD:\n\n\n\n Offers almost $80\,000 in tuition assistance each year\, giving children the opportunity to change their futures through dance.\n\n Created an adaptive dance program for individuals with varying physical and cognitive abilities through our Ballet Expressions Program.\n\n Performs an engaging and life-changing anti-bullying ballet for over 5\,000 students.\n\n Operates a school serving more than 400 students where we believe in keeping cost as low as possible while offering the highest quality of teaching..\n\n\n	\n\n	In our upcoming season\, we have committed to partner with a record number of schools and to give an unprecedented number of tuition scholarships. Please join us for a free lunch\, graciously catered by Broomfield's Buca di Beppo\, and support this amazing programming!
