BROOMFIELD FARMER'S MARKET OPENING DAY CELEBRATION
They trace their roots to an evening in October 2010, when volunteers of Holy Comforter’s environmental stewardship ministry first conceived of transforming the vacant lot in front of their church into a community farmers’ market. That tiny seed of an idea quickly sprouted and blossomed.
The market opened on June 14, 2011 with 16 vendors, live music, and hundreds of shoppers. As word of the great vendors, the cornucopia of fresh food, free entertainment, and friendly volunteers spread throughout the community, their market quickly grew.
In 2016, they boasted nearly 50 vendors, and welcomed 14,000 shoppers during the market season. The Broomfield Farmers’ Market at Holy Comforter has grown into a community gathering spot, where neighbors find fresh food, great music, food trucks and fellowship.
And, for the second time in their five-year history, they were “elected” Colorado’s Favorite Farmers’ market in an on-line poll conducted by the American Farmland Trust!
