As the Colorado Repertory Singers embarks on the final concert of our 14th season, Vocal Tapestries, we are thrilled to bring you two of the finest musical genres: musical theater and opera. Commonly known as Broadway music, the American stage music began in the later 20th century while opera, centered in Europe, began in the 16th century. In this last program of the season, we bring these two uniquely connected genres together in one program celebrating these tremendous art forms. Join us for selections from opera classics, such as Tosca, Macbeth, and Carmen to Broadway classics, such as State Fair, Ragtime, Hello Dolly, Into the Woods, and Les Miserables! Our guest artists for the evening join us from the studio of Carol Kirkpatrick, the international opera star and voice instructor who has settled locally in Lakewood, CO. These seven singers imbued with poise, elegance, and vocal artistry will display the wonder and beauty found in the opera style. Soloists from within the Colorado Repertory Singers will contrast the definitive musical theater style with solo and ensemble selections. Tickets are now on sale! Make plans to attend this vocally, power-packed concert and experience two musical styles that have altered theater-going experiences around the world!
